Due to the 2-year event 'Gallo-Roman Weekend', the camper site De Balokken will not be accessible from Tuesday, October 1 to Wednesday, October 9.
Spend the night in peace and quiet on the 36-hectare De Balokken recreational island with its superb location on the banks of the River Lys. The perfect starting point for exploring the border region.
Facilities
- Designed for short stays, the small site can accomodate 8 campervans.
- The unattented recreational vehicle site is equipped with an automatic acces system (number plate recognition).
- Book your pitch online or at the booking kiosk upon your arrival. Payment is only possible by Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and Bancontact.
- The charge is €10/night and the maximum continuous occupancy is 72 hours.
- Check-in from 11 AM
- Check-out no later than 11 AM
- You may drive your campervan in and out freely during your stay.
- A full range of facilities is available: the price includes the use electricity (16 A), the discharge of wastewater and the emptying of chemical toilets. The charge for refilling water tanks is € 1 (100 litres) - payable onsite using coins.

Location
The site is located on the eastern end of the 'De Balokken' island, near the marina and the cafeteria.
Wervik city centre and the tourist office are within walking distance.

How to get there
From the A19 Kortrijk-Ypres motorway:

Arriving from Kortrijk: take exit n° 2A (Wervik-Geluwe) and follow expressway N58 until the 4th roundabout. Turn left (=3rd exit Kruisekestraat/N303) direction Wervik.

Arriving from Ypres: take exit n° 3 (Beselare). Drive towards Wervik (follow the N303 = Wervik- en Kruisekestraat).
At the end of Kruisekestraat ('Lege Kruise' roundabout) turn right (Komenstraat). Just past the cemetery, turn left (Barrierestraat) and take the first street on the right (Hansbekestraat) At the end of this street, near the Park Cemetery, cross the Lys bridge and turn left. At the end of the towpath, you will find the campervan site on your right.
When setting up your GPS device, it is best to choose 'Hansbekestraat' and then follow the instructions above.

Recognised by Toerisme Vlaanderen (Tourist office for Flanders), the campervan site meets all the standards of comfort required by law.
